Sicilia, Terra benedetta.

Giorni fa si commemorava l'anniversario della morte del giudice Paolo Borsellino.

Fra le tante polemiche è tanta stupidità umana c’è stata la frase del figlio del Giudice, attuale commissario di polizia in un paese della Sicilia, che dice: Sicilia terra maledetta. Sentendo la frase al telegiornale, sono rimasto perplesso; mi sono ricordato del periodo di servizio militare fatto nel 1956, nelle regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, chè quando un siciliano andava in licenza, tutta la compagnia, formata da soldati provenienti da tutte le regioni d’Italia, aspettava con ansia che questo ritornasse , per poter assaporare i prodotti della benedetta terra siciliana, che noi siciliani portavamo ai compagni. Eravamo orgogliosi di portare da quella meravigliosa terra, quei prodotti che venivano considerati unici al mondo: i limoni profumati, le arance sanguinelle, le olive di Paternò, l’olio di oliva, le patate novelle, il pomodoro di Pachino, i pistacchi di Randazzo, il pane di grano duro, la ricotta di pecora affumicata.

Quelle parole pronunciate da quel commissario di polizia , mi hanno fatto riflettere e mi sono convinto che le uniche “cose maledette” sono i siciliani.
